The Harwich Festival is pleased to announce that it has leased the former Essex County Council Adult Community Learning Centre, adjacent to the Mayflower Primary School, for a period of 5 years and will be operating it as the Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre. This fantastic opportunity enables the Festival to provide and support a wide range of activities for the local community including Arts and Heritage projects and new and exciting venues for live events
We currently hold Craft Café every Monday at 10:30am. It is a place to meet fellow crafters. Somewhere you can have a go and try out new craft techniques. We share craft ideas with each other, have a chat and a cuppa.Activities we have done so far include working on a large textile wall hanging for the Centre, making gift tags from air-drying clay, embroidery onto old sea charts to make greeting cards, lantern making for the Illuminate Festival, needle felting Christmas decorations and working on the new public art project for Harwich Festival 2020. Admission to the Craft Café is free. We meet every Monday during term time from 10.30 to 12.00. Hope to welcome you in our Craft Café soon. For more information phone Monique on 01255 556517.
